Wardrobe Guidelines

For trade shoots, wardrobe options are (largely) up to the model, with the general expectation that they'll be fairly form fitting.

Color choices are open: white on white works well; bright colors work well, black works well; pastels work well.

Texture is similarly flexible; shiny, rough, matte, textured...

Women

  • Straight skirts or narrow-bottomed dresses are tricky. When they work, they can be very very effective. In other cases, however, they only work if you want your underwear to show, as they tend to ride up in many most poses. Depending on the details, however, they can be quite effective, either to deliberately 'flash', or, in careful side poses, can be very striking, and serve to make the model's legs look longer.
  • Consider this a cautionary note. :)
  • Full skirts tend to work well, especially shorter ones.
  • Shorts and leggings have worked well in the past.
  • "Empire waist" is generally not a good option; the space limitations tend to cause the draping to make the model look very heavy.

Wardrobe Staples

(There's a wealth of other choices, but these are known to work. I also have a lot of some of these already, so if you want to do it, it'll be a secondary or should be in some way spectacular.)

  • Swimwear
  • Lingerie
  • Shorts and top
  • Dancewear
  • bodystockings
  • Snug costumes
